Melissa M. Enriquez - Principal / Lead Designer Melissa's rich latin history and artistic family roots led her right into the passionate career of interior design. Recognized among design professionals and her wide range of residential and commercial design clients, Melissa Enriquez has developed a reputation for her discerning design style. Her commitment to traditional design, blended with splashes of eclectic flair has been described as “casually luxurious, but never pretentious.” There isn’t one style that describes the work Melissa has done, because she always lets the architecture of the home, mixed with the needs of the client and her own design interpretation, dictate the direction of the project. Melissa’s appreciation for travel and discovering new cultures, along with her affinity for mixing objects pulled directly from nature is part of the allure that draws clients to her sophisticated aesthetic. In the last few years, she has spent a considerable amount of time working with upcoming artists and fine art dealers and collectors. These relationships have led to her latest passion of collecting art for her own collection and procuring art for her interior design clients. As the owner and lead designer of Sur La Mer Design, she splits her time between New York and Los Angeles, and in the last year has added Dallas to her monthly travel schedule. Over the last two years, she has been deeply involved in the business restructuring and strategy behind the Calypso Home stores for Calypso St. Barth in LA, NY and Dallas. Sur La Mer Design is a member of the IIDA.
