Patrick K. Tennant
Design Assistant & Lead Draftsman
Patrick is the most recent addition to the Sur La Mer Design family. He is originally from the Southern California area but has spent the last 9 years on the east coast. Patrick began his formal design training studying Set Design and Fine Art at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts School of Theatre under industry professionals with extensive credits on Broadway and Regional Houses.
Patrick graduated Magna Cume Laude from Boston Universtiy and moved to NYC where here worked for 5 years designing new plays, new musicals, and painting scenery in Manhattan and the north east. During his stay in NYC, Patrick was the primary Design Assistant to Tony nominated Set Designer James Noone (Jekyll & Hyde).
Patrick is currently enrolled in the UCLA professional level Interior Design program expanding his knowledge of the industry. Coming from a theatrical background Patrick believes that interiors, though static, should be fluid in their telling a story about the people that live, work, and play in them. In theatrical design you, as a story teller, must be very versatile and execute the concepts well to make them successful. Versatility is one of Patrick’s strongest qualities as well as internalizing the desires and needs of the client and guiding them to achieve their optimal space.
